Rebooking return flight

Rebooking return flight

  1. Thenewonw New Member

    Hi all,

Are there limitations on the maximum stay for rebooking a return flight?

My idea is to book a regular return flight from Europe to Australia.

    Outbound: January 2020
    Return: April 2020

What will be the latest date to rebook the return flight? I know sometimes there is a maximum stay of 1 or 3 month.

My idea is to rebook the return flight in April 2020 to April 2021.

Will that be possible?how do I find out if there is a maximum stay on a fare?

    Cheers
    Thenewone

It all depends on the program and the specific fare. For the most part, you can always book your return at a much later date. It just may reprice and you won’t have the price you want 🙂

In your situation though, you may be limited by your original ticketing date. So, you book your outbound January 2020, return April 2020. You more than likely will be limited to change the return til January 2021 (based on the start of your trip).

Thank you for your reply. I was afraid the outbound date will be the relevant factor.

I therefore will have to find another solution to get to Hawaii from Asia at the end of the trip and still get back to Europe:(

I feel like the limitation is a year from the original date of issue, when the ticket was first booked, much like award tickets. In any case, you’d have to wait until at least April 2020 to find out if you can rebook for April 2021
