Question regarding Applying a CITI Business Card

Question regarding Applying a CITI Business Card

Hey folks, so I took Ben’s advise and went ahead to apply for one of those AA Bis cards with the increased sign up bonus. For the most part, the application was easy, UNTIL.. the dreaded “we need to review further” caption popped up.

Fast forward to 10 business days later, I received a mail today stating that I need to submit more documentation to prove my address for this business.. I called a CSR, explained my situation that I’m just a freelance writer blah blah blah, I work from home, and I really do not have any official business statements or bills with the business name on it. She was going down the list asking for business contracts, statements bills etc, I told her I have a paystub, and she denied that.

I hung up, pretty frustrated. At this point what would you do? I kindda want to let it go and not deal with it, but at the same time, annoyed because they already did a hard pull on my account which is reflected on experian when I checked on my credit. Any one experienced this before and found a way to work around this? Thanks!

Don’t know if this might benefit anyone.. but I managed to get some advice and signed up for a EIN number with IRS. It’s super fast and painless.10 mins sign up online, no implication on taxes I believe, and I got a digital processed letter with my EID in pdf with address printed on it. Going to mail this to CITI, will update if this works..
