I’ve been trying to book a roundtrip award ticket with United miles, flying PEK-SIN(connection under 24 hours)-MEL, CHC-MEL(connection under 24 hours)-SIN. Alternatively, PEK-SIN-MEL-AKL, CHC-MEL-SIN (which would make AKL my destination). I managed to have one agent price the award for me but I didn’t make the reservation (rookie mistake on my part, this is my first trip on miles) because of one particular flight that didn’t work for us.
Now that I’ve waited for the award space to show up again (I guess there’s a delay in award seats being released back into inventory), I’ve had 2 different agents/supervisors tell me that the computer won’t price the award. HUACA seems to be troublesome here because the SQ and NZ award seats take 24+ hours to reappear. Do you have any suggestions on how to go about this? Is it a legal routing?
Thanks for the help!
@ Stephen — Have you tried just booking as one-ways? It looks legal to me.
