Question 1233

Question 1233

  1. Anonymous

Hi Lucky, my husband recently applied for the citi business and was denied. The letter said that he already has one. He called them because we thought it had something to do with not closing the ” master account ” when he cancelled it. But the lady said it was because he had recently closed one in Oct2013. He had mistakenly assumed that he had cancelled the card long before that. So do we have to wait about 18 months from the time he canceled a card or from the time he opened it in which case it’s been about 2 years. And how does this denial affect his future application. Does he now have to wait another 18-24 months from this denial before applying again?

@ Siso — He could absolutely still get approved again in the future. Citi can sometimes be arbitrary with approvals, so I wouldn’t read too much into it. I’d maybe wait at least another year or so and then consider applying again.
