Question 1159

Question 1159

  1. Anonymous

Hi Ben, I am having trouble figuring out what to do with our Skymiles/Skypesos. We don’t have a lot of them (40K and 60K between me and my husband), and I am tempted to just blow them some domestic or Caribbean flights that we need to take over the Xmas holidays. (DCA to ABQ in F is 25K, BGI to DCA in economy is 37.5K on the days we want — nice that they have one way now).

Is there some other really great use for them that I will be blowing if I just use them for these types of flights? And if I do burn them all, where should I put my Sky Team miles in the future as opposed to Delta? I very occasionally have to fly Delta, AF or Al Italia for work or maybe a mistake fare.

    Thanks!

@ Lauren — It’s certainly not a bad option if paid tickets are expensive. That being said, there are lots of great uses of those miles if you can top off your account with some points from Membership Rewards, like one way business class to Asia, Australia, Europe, etc.

I’d consider crediting miles to Korean Air SkyPass, personally. I really value the mileage currency, and it can be used to redeem for international first class.
