Thanks so much for the help on the previous query. I just have another one. Kindly advise. I book majority of my Starwood stays through my travel agency which is a virtuoso member and has a special agreement with starwood. They book my stays using their special corporate of IATA number and hence I get the best available rate which on my bookings reflects as “Luxury Privileges” package/rate. My starwood bookings page as well as the confirmation emails state the following benefits : Early Check-In, Late Check-Out, Complimentary Continental Breakfast, USD 100 F&B credit, Room Upgrade and lastly VIP treatment. I get ALL those benefits including VIP treatments such as complimentary fruits or 1-2 free drinks at the bar or free washing/pressing per day, BUT I’ve never ever gotten an upgrade even if there has been availability for a higher category room. Moreover I know that SPG gold benefits and rate/package benefits are stackable, however I still haven’t gotten an upgrade 9 out of 10 times.
Hence my question is, should I email or tweet SPG about it ? Is it my right to demand an upgraded room since my “Luxury Privileges” package/rate states so even on my SPG account bookings page as well as the confirmation e-mail.

@ Keya — Do you usually ask at check-in? I’d nicely ask at check-in about the possibility of an upgrade, and hopefully they can accommodate it.
