    @ Jerry Mandel – I’ve actually thought about that, but price-wise Philippine Airlines is actually not particularly cheaper. The ban on fuel surcharges is not just for PAL – it’s for *all* tickets issued in the Philippines. So, for example, even if I fly one of the ME3, there’s no fuel surcharge:

    (Test booking on EK for six months from now, more or less)

    The end result is that price-wise any of PAL’s price advantage vanishes once the cost of the connection is factored in.
