There seems to be Qantas phantom space on the Australia-Singapore route during December-January. Is it the same for the award space to Japan and other asia routes?

FlyingHigh, phantom space does appear from time to time. Have you tried verifying by checking using other search engines (BA/JAL)? That or trying to book are the only ways to confirm space.
