Qantas to American Platinum match

Qantas to American Platinum match

1. David Spencer New Member

Hi
We have just moved to New York from Australia and I am a Qantas Platinum FF. As I will now be mostly flying on American and therefore won’t earn Qantas status points I will lose my Platinum status.
As I plan to join AAdvantage do you know if American will match my Platinum (Ruby) Oneworld status?
Many thanks
David

hi @David Spencer, welcome. You could check http://statusmatcher.com/ to see if there are any recent published reports. If you don’t have luck there you could call AA to see what they are offering. You could also take an AA challenge. Ben wrote about them here: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2017/01/03/american-status-challenge-2017/.

qantas platinum is equivalent to one word emerald or American executive platinum.
id suggest calling or emailing them with a screen shot of your recent milage.

I agree with @freshthoughts – Qantas Platinum is OW Emerald.

You can also earn Qantas status credits by flying AA metal (although you won’t meet the 4 QF flight segments for the coming year unless you fly QF metal.)
