Plan a fun “round the world” to SYD in F cabins
Looking for a little fun advice. It looks like I’ll need to go to SYD next year, departing on Christmas day or the day after, returning about a week later from the East coast.
I thought it would be a fun chance to make it an around the world trip – going one way through the east and coming back from the west. I’d like to do the trip in F cabins.
I’ve got a bounty of UR, SPG, Delta, and United and could top off or purchase if I needed. Then part of me also thinks that just waiting for availability and doing a round trip booking through Alaska is the most economical as far as points.
I’d welcome any input or thoughts. Go out on EK or EY and then return on Quantas or an asian carrier? I have even wondered about LH in F – having a back up DL flight until that window opens.
One priority is not paying taxes/fees over a reasonable amount – I’d rather be buying up in points than paying taxes.
Thoughts or ideas?
Departing airport is RIC or IAD
