Phx To Tokyo – September
Looking to travel from PHX to Tokyo in September. Thinking of using Virgin Atlantic to book ANA business class seats. Will I be able to book out of PHX or will I need to get to airport such as LAX then use the points to Tokyo.
Welcome @GAH –
You could use them on Delta but since Delta doesn’t seem to have a non-stop PHX-LAX flight, you’d have to connect in SLC. I’d just buy a revenue ticket for the PHX-LAX leg. I’d leave a minimum of 3 if not 4 hours between the arrival of your PHX-LAX flight and the departure time of your ANA flight.
Thank you. Now to see if flying ANA and paying revenue is better value than booking directly through United for business class.
I’d set up some expert flyer searches for ord-tyo, lax-tyo etc and vice versa. Once you find the main flights I’d use virgin to book an open jaw or a simple return in biz or first to one for those airports. Then buy exonomy domestic flights to connect to those airports. I’d also keep an eye on jal space and then use alaksa miles to book
Thanks. Still new to using the points. Just now learning about expert flyer. Is there a way to tell if ANA (booked through Virgin) are save awards, or is there a difference. Finding both business and first availability on ANA through Expert Flyer, just wasn’t sure how to tell. Thanks for the earlier response.
I believe Expert Flyer only shows saver awards.
