Park Hyatt Sydney – Diamond Suite Upgrade

Park Hyatt Sydney – Diamond Suite Upgrade

  1. worldtravel1 New Member

    Hi,

Lucky’s post the other day about Hyatt and Diamond Suite upgrades got me concerned. I have a Sydney reservation ready to be made for the Park Hyatt. I called the Diamond Desk today and they informed me that the Park Hyatt Sydney hasn’t participated in Diamond Suite Upgrades for the past two years.

I then asked since the reservation date would fall under the new rules of the new Hyatt Program, would there be a possibility of obtaining an upgrade at check-in. The agent wasn’t sure how to answer the question and just recommended booking a suite if I wanted one.

Has anyone recently used a Diamond Suite upgrade at the Park Hyatt Sydney? How does everyone feel about complimentary upgrades at check-in under the new program? Since the new program hasn’t started yet, I know that there isn’t a 100% clear answer but what is your gut telling saying?

    Thanks!

The agent was correct. PH Sydney is one of the few hotels where DSU’s aren’t accepted. If you want a suite, the only way is to book a suite. As a Diamond member, you may get upgraded to a nicer room but not a suite.

Luis is correct. The exceptions are actually written into the T&Cs (Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort, Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, Park Hyatt Sydney, Andaz Tokyo, Hyatt Regency Kyoto, Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort, Hyatt Regency Tulsa, Hyatt Regency Wichita, Hyatt Paris Madeleine, Hyatt Herald Square, Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa, Hyatt Manila City of Dreams, Hyatt Santa Barbara, Hyatt Residence Club resorts, Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels and M life resorts.)

I don’t think anyone knows how they will treat suite upgrades at check in but if I had to guess they are likely to be stingy.

I wouldnt be surprised at all if the new program maintained the same suite upgrade limitations that @Gaurav mentitoned. If anything, it’ll be surprising if they dont keep that list of suite upgrade excluded properties.
