Paid ticket turn to redemption tkt

Paid ticket turn to redemption tkt

lucky – have you ever bought a tkt and whilst scanning the redemption seat availability up till departure and when becomes available you cxl and get a refund on your paid and then book a redemption tkt based – obviously this is all based on the cost of your tkt vs the cost of the miles etc,
just curious if you have ever done this

If you absolutely have to travel on certain dates, I’m sure that could work out in certain situations. Typically though, cancellation fees are extremely high unless booking higher fare tickets in the first place. So, I can’t imagine there are my instances where this would work out in your favor.

But, maybe someone has more experience.
