Outrageously Priced or Is It?

Outrageously Priced or Is It?

    Hi Lucky,

I trust your judgment and insight on this rather peculiar matter. So, I would probably need to have an extended stay in Shanghai in January or February. So, as I was browsing through the Marriott App, I came across an insanely priced hotel room. The Sheraton Grand Shanghai Pudong Hotel and Residences is asking for around 87,000 to 89,000 RMB a night before taxes and service charges. I was not able to find a way to upload the screenshots. Is there a reason for this pricing? It is only for a superior room with a garden view. It must be a very superior room overlooking a replica of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. What is your opinion on this? Thank you.

Jan 25th is Chinese New Year. Is that around the time you were looking?

Hi. Thanks for replying. I was specifically looking from January 8th through January 20th. It is before Lunar New Year. Yet, I still cannot fathom the reasoning for charging over 10,000 US dollars a night at any time of the year for a superior room that is housed within a category four Marriott branded hotel. Yeah? Thanks again for your response.
