Planning my honeymoon to Greece. I know everyone here is in love with Lufthansa F, but is it really worth 50K more miles + $800 for 2 one way? Especially considering 3 hours from FRA to ATH are in intra Europe Business class (blocked middle seat). On TK I could save $600 and 50k miles while riding in international Biz the entire way. Is 9 hrs in LH F + FCT [I]really[/I] that much better than TK biz for the full 13 hrs + their (good for biz) lounge? Have never flown either.
I was all set on splurging the miles/money for Air China Biz ATH-MUN and MUN-ORD on LH F until they announced they were dropping F from Munich.

Would be booking with Krisflyer or Aeroplan.

If you’ve never flown either, you’ll have a great time on Turkish, and the lounge in Istanbul is gorgeous.

Yes, Lufthansa first is great (wonderful even!), but if you have nothing to compare it to I don’t think you’ll appreciate it as much, personally.

Given your choices, I would choose TK business over LH business. They have better catering and I think the seats a but more spacious, especially around the feet in bed mode.

However, for a honeymoon LH F would be fun! Maybe book TK biz on the way there and end the honeymoon on LH F thru FRA?

Start off with TK Biz. They have a good product and an amazing lounge.
Also, on LH F (747-8) you cannot sit together (next to each other) unless you are sitting on those island seats which are not private in my opinion.. I think you deserve to sit together on a honeymoon trip.:):)

keep in mind if you are going from ORD to IST, TK uses one of the crappy lounges in T5 while LH’s flights depart out of the UA terminal near the refurbished UA club

True but I wouldnt choose to fly LH J over TK J because of the lounges at ORD

no I probably wouldn’t either 😉 The TK J product is the Zodiac Aura which is nicer than LH’s modified B/E diamond seat
