Options between Melbourne and London

Options between Melbourne and London

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi guys,

I am looking to book a one way flight between Melbourne and London, and have been presented with the following options:

    1.
    Business Class £2200
Melbourne to Tokyo on JAL B787
Tokyo to Helsinki on JAL B789
Helsinki to London on Finnair A321

    2.
    Business Class £2200
Melbourne to Tokyo on JAL B787
Tokyo to Helsinki on Finnair A359
Helsinki to London on Finnair A321

    3.
    Business Class £2200
Melbourne to Hong Kong on CX 777/330
Hong Kong to Helsinki on Finnair A359
Helsinki to London on Finnair A321

    4.
Melbourne to Jakarta on Garuda A330 in Business Class
Jakarta to London on Garuda B777 in First Class for £2700

I am curious if flying in business class, would you prefer CX,JL or AY?
And if it is worth the price difference to fly Garuda?

I’d probably go with JL, if both long haul legs have Apex suites, then CX and lastly Finnair.

I do think its worth the upcharge for GA First considering Lucky (and others) had a real fantastic time with them, plus you’d only have one connection instead of two.

I would try to avoid Intra-Europe Business class at all costs, it’s just Economy with Elite Benefits, a blocked out middle seat and a crappy meal. If you don’t want to pay the extra 500 (which I would recommend as Garuda has is fantastic in F), you should try to get a Garuda business class seat as they are also pretty good.

Otherwise, I would go on JAL and snag a Window Apex in J.
