One of my legs is canceled
I booked for ATL-BCN via IST in J on Turkish Airlines. I just logged into my account and found out that the returning flight BCN-IST is on longer there. Looks like it’s been canceled? I just did a Google Flights search, looks like that flight is still available.
I know I will have to call TK, but I’d like to know what my options are first. Can I take this chance to alter other legs in my reservation or even change the dates of the trip?
It happened to me before with Swiss (bought the ticket through United though). A week after booking it, the ZRH-BOS segment disappeared. Called United, they rebooked me on the original flight. Called Swiss to find out what happened, they said the only thing they can think of is that because the flight number changed, that somehow lead to the segment being dropped from the paid and issued ticket. Now I do not know how believable that explanation is, but that is what they said.
There should be no problem for Turkish to restore the original itinerary. But I would call the ASAP.
If they can put back the original flight segment, then they are unlikely to change the itinerary. If they cannot restore your original itinerary, then you can ask for even different routing.
