OMAAT Avoiding Air Canada?

OMAAT Avoiding Air Canada?

  1. Steven New Member

This is just for my curiosity. The last review I can find of Air Canada on OMAAT is from back in 2008 (I would suggest that Lucky has perfected the art of a trip report since then).

    In that report, Lucky says:
AC has to be my new favorite airline. I love the seat, love the service, love the entertainment, and love the food. Heck, next time I go to Asia I’ll take them over SQ, NH, or OZ. For a product that seems to be mediocre to most, I couldn’t have been happier.
As far as I can tell, that was the last time Lucky flew with Air Canada, and no further trip reports were made of AC.

I am curious why this is, considering what a positive experience it seemed to be… and how much OMAAT writers seem to use Aeroplan. Is it due to Air Canada’s lack of award space in premium cabins (well… in all cabins, I guess)? Or is it more due to Air Canada not really being an “aspirational” airline?

@Steven — Welcome! It’s totally due to lack of award space; both on Air Canada and connecting to their hubs. I flew Air Canada with my niece in…2013? But they just don’t release a lot of space.

Great option if you can find it though!
