Offloaded from flight

Offloaded from flight

  1. Anonymous Guest

So I have always been told and read that as long as your at the gate more than 10 minutes before your flight time, you’re safe.

American apparently has a policy where they offload passengers 15 minutes before the flight time and process standbys etc…

I got to my gate 11 minutes before the flight and was told that the flight was closed.

What are the real rules? What does the DOT say? Was I involuntarily denied boarding? Is the 10 minute rule now the 15 minute rule?

    Thanks.
