Obtaining United Miles
I am new to this forum and have a question. My prime carrier is United and Star Alliance. I take 2-3 international trips per year and was 1K with United for years and have ammased a good amount of miles. I am now retired and no longer travel for business Is it safe to say that the best way to obtain united miles is through Chase. ie United Plus, Saffire, Explorer etc.? I don’t really need a hotel program
Yes, that is the best way to obtain miles. If you dont already have United’s credit cards, I would get those when the bonus is high. Otherwise, I would focus spend on cards that have Ultimate Rewards points – Sapphire Preferred/Freedom/Freedom Unlimited/Ink/Ink Plus. With the correct mix and strategic spending, you should be earning at least 1.5x points on purchases and transfers instantly to UA.
UA also sells miles with a bonus a few times a year, if that’s something youre interested in
