Not taking a connection flighton a RT Ticket
I am scheduled to fly AA operated by Quantas SFO-SYD-AKL-SYD-SFO I want to spend some time in SYD but do not wnat to buy an additional ticket back to SYD since I will be there for a layover.
Can I just not take the last flight to AKL and stay in SYD without my return ticket AKL-SYD-SFO being canceled?
I will purchse a one way ticket from SYD to AKL after a few days then take my return flight as normal.

No that would not work.
Is this a paid ticket or an award ticket? If award is it booked as 2 separate tickets or a return ticket?
