New traveller needs Help with LAX
I’m flying Virgin Airlines arriving terminal 6 and departing terminal 3. What’s the best way to get from 6 to 3? I am travelling from Toronto to Brisbane and have never been to LAX.
Hi Marjorie:
There is an a shuttle bus that makes the loop at LAX. Hop on at 3 and get off at 6. You can also. I’ve walked 3 to 4 or 5 before. 3 to 6 is probably 10-15 minutes depending on how quickly you walk.
For the bus check out:

Since she’s going from 6 to 3, which is – I assume – the opposite way the bus circles, would walking likely be faster?
It may also depend on the time of day. If a number of international flights are arriving at the same time traffic may be at a near standstill.

My bad… reversed the direction when answering. Yep, I would definitely walk at peak times. Which is most of the time.

I’ve connected to Virgin Australia before and I’ve just walked instead of taking the transfer bus. So once you step off the aircraft, just exit the terminal and there would be a big walkway which you just follow the signs to get to the lower number terminals. I prefer to just walk on the walkway instead of waiting for the bus. Once there you need to check in at T3 and check your bags. But the flight actually departs from Tom Bradley International Terminal so you need to make your way to TBIT after check-in to where your flight departs.
I would walk outside. If you don’t have luggage you can walk through the parking lot, otherwise just follow the ring around. Walk on the departures level for less smog.

Avoid the bus. You’ll be on that thing forever.
