Need to reschedule tickets

Need to reschedule tickets

I booked our flights business class to Ireland using award miles on March 22 to Ireland due to leave tomorrow. Using Advantage miles. (I read your suggestion on Johnny Jet). Now unable to leave tomorrow May 4th. Thought I would check with you all before I call and try to reschedule next Febuary. In rereading your tip about booking the trip before March 22, 2016, will I be able to change the flight to Hong Kong next February instead of Ireland? I will be doing this over the phone with an AA agent

You would have to pay change fees plus the new award costs.

As long as your origin and destination stay the same you can keep the same award price so you can change the dates of the flights to dates in the future with award availability (as long as all segments are flown within one year of the date of initial ticket issue). If you change the origin/destination you will pay much more as David W mentions. Usually the cost is cheaper to just redeposit the award and then start from scratch instead of paying the change fee per ticket.

Hi! If you want to change without penalties, the origin and destination have to remain the same.

You can cancel and redeposit the miles to use for a future trip, but there is a fee for that. Still possible though!
