Marriott Travel Package

Marriott Travel Package

Was able to quite easily get a 5 night travel package yesterday but I was wondering what Marriott has done in the past if they noticed it after the fact? I’ve read for some they just deducted the remaining amount needed for the 7 night cert. Anyone else know? I purposely only transfered enough points over from SPG to see if I could get the 5 night cert & I don’t think I’ll move any more points over until Marriott does it automatically on the 18th.

    Anyone….? Thanks.

Hey MMM, I’m confused by your question. I assume you were able to get the “hidden” 5 night travel package even though you are not a Vacations Club member? Are you wondering if Marriott will notice you aren’t a member, and ask you for more points? I can’t think of any situation where that would be the case, though I don’t have personal experience.

Sounds like you have a use for the 5 night in mind – why not just book what you are aiming for, get the confirmed reservation, and roll with it?

    Hi rickyw,
Thanks for your reply & sorry if I wasn’t clear. Yes, I’ve booked my first TP and it was for 5 days but I don’t have any hotel plans as of now. I never stay at any place for 7 days so 5 days would make more sense since the rep allowed it. Yes, wondering what if anything happens if they know I’m not a vacation club owner?

Gotcha – I’ve been researching a bit and I can’t find any evidence of that happening. I’d say if the certificate is in your account, you’re probably safe!

Thanks rickyw for looking into it. I’m hoping they are too busy to do any auditing right now & that my cert gets treated like any other floater certs (whatever that may be) come Aug 18.
