Marriott Platinum Premier Elite and Mileage Plus Silver

Marriott Platinum Premier Elite and Mileage Plus Silver

    Happy Holidays All,

Just achieved PPE status with Marriott. One of the benefits is United Mileage Plus Silver status which also equates to Star Alliance Silver. My question is, is Star Alliance Silver significant at all? From what I’m reading, it doesn’t seem to be.

Your thoughts and opinions are welcomed.

Not overly significant. I’ve had it through Marriott as well for a few years now. You might get a random upgrade here or there if you fly at odd times and/or leisure routes. Priority boarding is nice, but that’s about it.

Better than nothing! But it doesn’t stand out

The free bag on United will save you a couple of bucks. The biggest benefit for me was using it to secure Hong Kong E-Channel on my passport as we go to HK a few times per year
