Marriott Megabonus

Marriott Megabonus

    Hi guys –

I typically stay 4-5 nights per month in a hotel for work, and have almost 100% control on what brands to stay at. Usually, I go back and forth between Hilton and Marriott to maintain mid-tier status with both (Starwood and Hyatt don’t have much of a presence in my sales market). I am debating scrapping Hilton altogether for the first half of the year and loading up on Marriott to max out the current Megabonus. I already did Level 1 where I stayed 2 nights to get 1 free night certificate.

My current promotion now is stay 15 nights and receive 10,000 bonus points. The bonus points aren’t extremely enticing. Part of me wants to just go for it out of curiosity on the next level of the promotion, but would love to get thoughts or insight from you guys. What do you think Level 3 of the promotion would be?

    Hello Rickyw

You seem to have fallen true the cracks of the forums.

Let me give this a bump and see if anyone else have some insights to share, since I’m really not a Marriott man these days.

Hi @rickyw! Given that it’s so easy to get Hilton mid-tier status through credit cards nowadays, I probably wouldn’t put much effort into accumulating paid stays there. I would just get the status, and use it as a backup program, probably.

That might open up the option of getting top-tier status with Marriott, which is going to be much more valuable.

Thanks @Tiffany! I agree, I definitely load up on Marriott early in the year and start to branch out elsewhere once I hit status.

Any best guess what Level 3 of their Megabonus will be?? As of now, I should find out myself end of April, but curious your thoughts. Thanks again
