Marriott changing points for existing reservation

Marriott changing points for existing reservation

  1. Anonymous Guest

hello, I was wondering if anyone else had an issue with Marriott changing the points for an existing award reservation. i made a reservation in December 2017 for 10 nights for 370,000 Marriott points for a stay in December 2018(I still have the confirmation). Then a few months ago I called to apply a Suite Night Award. A few weeks later, I received an email stating that my SNA had been redeposited into my account. I had never requested this so I logged on to my account only to discover that my reservation was now showing at 780,000 points!! The only change was that the Autograph Collection was not a JW Marriott but this should not affect my reservation. I emailed Marriott, spent hours on the phone with them (funny story: I even had a supervisor on the phone who had the audacity to tell me that there were absolutely no IT issues…). No answers at this stage. Any suggestions on how to get my original reservation at the 370,000 rate back? Also, I am Lifetime Platinum with them, 75 nights+ each year but this does not seem to matter to them at all.
