Lounge for long layover at Terminal 5 LHR?

Lounge for long layover at Terminal 5 LHR?

  1. Aparna Radhakrishnan New Member

    Hi.

We (my husband, my 15 month old and me) are travelling from Houston to Bangalore via London on Christmas eve. We ended up booking an AA flight code shared with BA that has a 7 hour layover at LHR. We are travelling by economy class.

What are our options? Is it worth paying for the lounge ? Can we book earlier?

A quick response would be greatly appreciated.

    Aparna.

Hi @Aparna Radhakrishnan, and welcome! Do you have Priority Pass through any of your credit cards? That would give you access to the Aspire lounge:

You can purchase access too, but it would be a bit pricey.

Thank you but unfortunately we do not have any Priority Pass.

hi @Aparna Radhakrishnan, here is a list of all the lounges at Heathrow:

As you can see Aspire is the only option at T5. Ben did a write up on it a little while back: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/08/10/aspire-lounge-heathrow/

You’d have to decide how much you value the offerings to decide if it would be worth it to you. Might be worth considering getting one of the cards that offers Priority Pass for families (Citi Prestige or Chase Reserve). While it’s iffy that you’ll get the physical pass in time you *might* be able to able to get your account active over the phone and use a digital pass. I think Chase has also said they will comp lounge fees if you use one before you get your card but I would confirm that with a rep before counting on it. Good luck.

    Thank you Tiffany.

Unfortunately we have no other choice than to buy access. However, I am rather confused about the flight time they are asking for. We land at 7am and our next flight is at 2pm. I am just a little lost on which time to give. Any pointers?

    Aparna.

How is the question phrased? Can you provide any context?

I think they want to know the time of your departing flight, as they technically only offer 3 hours of access unless your flight is delayed.
