Flying into LHR with some business colleagues. We need a car service to take us to the little town where we’ll be working. It’s been so long since I flew into LHR as my destination I can’t remember how long it should take to get through Customs and collect our luggage. Our flight is due to land at 11:20 AM. When scheduling our pickup would noon be too soon? We are flying business class.

Normally, I’d say yes, 11:20AM would be fine. But, I’ve been stuck at customs in London before, even in the fast lane, simply because so many inbound flights land in the same time block. I’d say 12:30 would be safer just in case.

Do you or any of your colleages have Registered Traveler? The UK version of Global Entry. If so, then yes, noon pick up should be fine!

No, none of us go there enough to make it worth our while (yet). For two of us this will be our first trip there on business and I think the other person has been there once or twice on business.

Really wanted to fly into BHX as that’s so much closer but it was also more expensive by over $2000.

When I flew into LHR from ORD I took the day flight scheduled to arrive at 10:40PM. We ended up arriving at around 10:20 and I was through immigration and customs by 11. I was flying J and picked up by bag during this time too. Fast Track was also closed when I was there.

What airlines are you flying Lea? Heathrow has very different distances depending on what carriers are involved.

My general experience with car service is that they ask for your flight arrival time, and they adjust from there, so they might figure it out on their own.

One person is arriving on Delta (T3) at 10 AM while the other two of us are on United in T2. The Delta arrival said he’d come meet us at T2.

And yes, the car service form did ask for a flight number and arrival info so I figured they could make a decision but thought it better to have some sort of clue as to the time to put on the form.

T2 is probably one of the faster terminals to get through that time of day, so noon is probably fine 🙂
