LH F Booking Question
Hey guys,
Looking to book 2 LH F seats from FRA to JFK / EWR.
I have will have enough Chase points to transfer to United for 1 seat and enough AMEX points to transfer to Aeroplan for the other.
What is the best plan of attack? Do i have the option of securing business class tickets with miles on each then calling and changing if space opens up? Should i wait till LH F space opens up 15 days before departure and risk it?
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
If you have to travel I would absolutely lock in the J seats. There is no guarantee that LH will open F and you don’t want to get stuck with no options. Also remember that Aeroplan will pass on surcharges for LH, just be prepared. Then just keep monitoring and pay the change fees to upgrade if F opens.
Great! Thank you! How much are the change fees?
Common program change fees are here: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/07/22/award-ticket-change-cancelation-fees/ but I would double check the airline site to make sure nothing has changed.
Aeroplan update here: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/10/15/aeroplan-award-ticket-fees/
United updates here: https://www.united.com/web/en-US/content/mileageplus/awards/travel/ticketing.aspx
Do you have to pay fees for a class change on the same plane?
I believe you do for both United and Aeroplan
Yes, you will have to for both.
