Leaving AAdvantage once it goes revenue… alaska?

Leaving AAdvantage once it goes revenue… alaska?

I’ve secured Platinum with AA for the rest of the year and 2017, my thoughts are I should switch once it goes revenue based since I always qualify on miles flown (ie.. my platinum status was under $1500 for all my flights, thanks asia!). My questions now is should I go to Alaska since I mostly fly AA domestically and they offer some decent international partners to book on? How easy is it to book a partner flight? What am I truly giving up from AA for leaving since Alaska’s mid-tier would still get me access to “main cabin extra” seats and all the other perks?

Just want to make sure I think this one through before I start crediting to them.
