LAX Lounge Options – HELP Please!

LAX Lounge Options – HELP Please!

  1. DrewK New Member

My wife and I are flying Air Tahiti Nui business class LAX-PPT soon. We have a 3.5 hour layover at LAX, so wondering what a better lounge option might be other that the Los Angeles International Longe (which would be the default for us)?

I am an AA Exec Platinum, so is either the OneWorld or Qantas Lounge an option (as an Emerald)? I am not sure if that would work though flying Air Tahiti Nui. Also have priority pass – is the Korean Air lounge better?

What about Admirals Club in T4 – can I get into Flagship flying business on Air Tahiti Nui (with the AA exec MasterCard)? Would that even be better??

    Help please!

You can access the oneworld lounge as an Emerald. You would not be eligible for the Qantas lounge as it requires you to be flying on a oneworld member airline. I don’t believe you can get into the Flagship lounge as you’re not flying oneworld. I believe with the AA Exec card you still have to be flying AA to get into the AAdmirals Club?

As to which lounge is best I’ll have to leave that to others.

    Thank you!

Even though I am an Emerald, because Air Tahiti Nui is not a OneWorld Member, would I still be able to access the OneWorld lounge? Or is it similar to Qantas as you mention?

The AA Exec card gets you into Admiral’s Clubs regardless of airline until November 1st, however I am hoping for something better than that (or the Los Angeles International Lounge…)

If Qantas/OneWorld are not an option, maybe it is Korean Air with the Priority Pass??

When I looked at the OW site, it just listed membership tiers eligible. It did not say they had to be flying a OW flight.

I’ve not been to any of the lounges at LAX except the AA club in T4 so someone else will have to say which one is better.

Thanks again for your help. I see both an “Access” column and then an “Airline” column at the link below, which states: “Access for eligible customers traveling on any oneworld member airline.” It’s that phrase that gives me pause…

If I can get in there, that would certainly be my best choice, just not sure if we can access!

I read that as an either-or (status or airline) but it’s possible I’m wrong!

Guess I will just ask them!

KAL lounge is one of the nicer priority pass lounges I have been in, but still a priority pass lounge. Plus they have limited hours for priority pass usage (1-7 pm only I think). For what it is worth, I actually find hanging out at PF Chang’s and using my priority pass credit for a drink and snack there more relaxing.
