Last minute availability on Cathay Pacific
Hello experts!
I’ve monitored for several days and I’ve noticed very little first class release by Cathay. Has anyone else notice this, and does this portend anything, or just usual ebb and flow of their release?
thanks!
how far in advance are you looking? Cathay probably wont release space until a week to a day before departure. what route are you looking at?
Flights are very full right now; this happened the same time last year, so I don’t think it’s indicative of a new philosophy, just loads being heavy.
Thanks @Tiffany -is this from now until summer? @David, I’m hoping to go to Hong Kong this week or next-or the last few days 🙂 .
Where are you flying from and what miles were you hoping to use?
i see 5 seats across 3 flights for CX F on JFK-HKG for tomorrow, one seat on 3 flights for the 20th, and one seat for the 21st. I see 1 seat for CX F from Chicago. I see 8 seats across 2 flights for ORD-NRT-HKG on JAL F.
dont give up hope and keep checking, be ready to book a flight 1-2 days before departure and consider JAL F, if booking using AA miles.
Thanks-I have a ticket from pre devaluation so I need to go LAX to HKG. I can take time off from work so I hope to go soon-but I want to hold out for first class Cathay Pacific as I’ve heard it’s spectacular 🙂
Just checked and some have now populated-thanks for your help, like always!
Yep! I see JAL F seats from LAX as well.
