Issues transferring from Chase > FlyingBlue?

Issues transferring from Chase > FlyingBlue?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I transferred 36k Ultimate Rewards from Chase to FlyingBlue three days ago and they haven’t been deposited yet. Did 24k Amex to the same FlyingBlue account on the same day and it was instantaneous. I’ve transferred from Chase to this account before last year and it was instantaneous.

Chase said everything is complete on their end but transfers to FlyingBlue have been known recently to take 1-7 days. I called FlyingBlue today and they of course said everything was fine on their end but that Chase transfers have been taking longer than usual.

Has this happened to anyone else? Of course the 7th day after the transfer will be June 1 and I was hoping to make the redemption before then.

Hi Nat, did your points show up in your FB account yet?

    Yes, 12 days later.

My suggestion to anyone going through something similar:

After 3 days, call every day.

If someone doesn’t seem to think it’s a big deal and the points will show up eventually, call back and talk to someone else.

If they say they’re going to do something for you, call back the next day to confirm that happened.

They can ticket and leave you with a negative point balance, ask for this if you’re pressed for time.
I called FB on day 7 and they acknowledged it was their issue and placed the flights on a 48-hour hold. I called the next day to check status and the agent said it would probably take several more days, but he could ask his supervisor to remove the 48hr expiration for the hold and make it indefinite. I called the next day* and found out that they can’t remove the hold expiration for flights on partner airlines (we were after China Airlines flights), therefore I needed to ticket the reservation ASAP. At that point, they ticketed it and left a negative balance in my account (email confirmations with ticket numbers verified before I hung up). Took a couple more days for the points to finally arrive and for my account to zero out.

*this was Saturday. Every time I tried to call, FB would hang up on me after I entered my FB number. No matter which phone I was calling from. Tried not entering my number and got hung up on. Got someone on online chat who insisted the phone line was working but looked into my issue. She had me call Delta and get transferred to FB, repeat same hang up scenario. I stayed online with her through all of that and she finally had someone from FB call me directly. Yeesh.
