Issue: Cathay award availability on partners

Issue: Cathay award availability on partners

    Hello,

I came across a weird situation, where there’s an availability on Cathay flight on Asiamiles while not on any other oneworld partners. I knew this issue existed on business class for a while, but Lucky’s recent post claimed not anymore.

But it seems like the issue still persists.

On Aug 19, 2018, ICN-HKG economy seats are available on CX415.

Actually, a lot of them. C9Y8.

But I see no seats at BA. Not at JL, QF as well.

But when I search ICN-BKK, ICN-HKG-BKK magically comes out for C. (Not for Y, unfortuantely)

Since I can change BA ticket for free within 24 hours, I might be able to book this C seat and cancel the last segment.
The married segment control reported by Gary ( https://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2018/07/16/cathay-pacific-business-class-award-space-is-hidden-heres-how-to-book-it/#_ga=2.102060545.129865513.1532843184-2074031660.1532843184 ) seems still there.

So this was a sort of failure data point. Now I have a question:

    1) Is there any other ongoing problem on CX award availability on partners?
    2) Is there any way I can get those Y seats? Married segment trick isn’t good for economy, unfortunately.

    Thanks!

I thought CX had additional seats only available to their our loyatly program customers.

I don’t know if they open an extra F or C seat for their own Asiamiles members. But anyway, these seats are already available on partners with married segments, so it’s not the case here.

FWIW, I think the BA Avios search engine is not playing nice with several partners right now. I need a simple one-way LAX-IAH in J. There’s Saver availability showing on AA, but not on BA (and it was just a few days ago, although I was not yet ready to book).

Hopefully a bug that BA sorts out sooner rather than later, for your sake and mine…

This is clearly still not sorted out yet… not sure how I can write to BA to get this rectified!! It is most annoying as a lot of my credit points have been transferred to Avios and I can’t redeem any CX tickets ex HKG at all, whilst they are widely opened in the AsiaMiles and Cathay website!

Anyone has any good suggestions or solutions?
