    Just because it says AMEX MR doesn’t mean anything. International AMEX MR is often not the same as US AMEX MR and can be worth less and have far less transfer partners.

    In general the number of MR’s will be tied to the local currency and not USD: So while it might look like you are getting more MR, you will in general end with the same when converting to partners since the transfers rate is not 1:1

    Without know the transfer partners and the transfer rates claiming OMG 3X this is so much better than in the US is simply BS.

    And finally a lot of non-US credit cards comes with FOREX fees in the 1.5-2% range, including AMEX even for Platinum or Gold charge cards in some countries.
