Is the new Marriott Infinite Points Mega Bonus promo open for all members?

Hi Lucky,
I have a problem registering for the new Marriott Rewards Infinite Points MegaBonus promotion. The register link from your blog post (and from a separate Google search page) yielded the same error message. It lists 3 possible reasons for the error message:
1. I am a mile earner trying to register.for a bonus points promotion (and vice versa)
2. I am ineligible for this promo
3. The promotion period has elapsed
Clearly reason no 3 is not in play, while I am, in fact, a points earner (just did a quick double check on My Profile). That leaves reason no 2 as the only possible reason for the error message. But why am I not eligible? Is it because I have an address in Bali and the promo is only available for North American members only? Is it a computer glitch?
Tried to register for the promo from Promotion Central inside my MR account but it said that I have no new promotion to sign up for at this point in time!
I have sent an inquiring email to Marriott Rewards Customer Service (2 days ago) but yet to receive a reply from them. Appreciate if you can shed a light on what could be the reason for me being ineligible for this promo.
