Is SPGpromos and the Dashboard kept intentionally hidden?

Is SPGpromos and the Dashboard kept intentionally hidden?

Seriously, I never would have known about it if it weren’t for this site. There seem to be no mentions of or links to it on spg.com that I could find. It appears that spgpromos.com is it’s own separate website rather than being a subsection of a website like asklucky is; evidenced by the fact that If I go to spg.com, log in (with “Remember Me” checked) and go to spgpromos.com I always have to log in again.

I would imagine the reason why Starwood would want to do this so that they can really reward their core “in the know” customers while minimizing the risk of your average Joe Blow who doesn’t spend a whole lot finding out about their often very generous promotions and taking advantage of it. That makes sense to me, but making simple stats like your status, qualifying nights/stays progress, and stay history kept in such a non-visible place doesn’t.

Or perhaps I’m just an idiot and am missing something very simple.

I think there is a quote that loosely paraphrased says “never attribute to malice when stupidity/incompetence will sufficiently explain the issue” :). I believe it’s just poor website design. I agree, all the promos need you to sign in separately but SPG does send out emails about all of them so I don’t think they are trying to hide them on purpose…
