Is $450 CSR cost part of $4K spend requirement?

Is $450 CSR cost part of $4K spend requirement?

I HAVE tried searching for this question on here, but I guess I am not asking the same question. I have $4100 in spending on the CSR. Do I need to make it at least $4,450 to properly meet the spend requirement? Thank you!

Annual fee does NOT count as part of the spending requirement for the bonus points

You only have to spend $4000. Your total amount due will be $4450. But David is right that the $450 does not count as “spend” since there are no merchant fees involved. You don’t get points for that $450 either.

The other thing I’m not sure about and I haven’t seen anything definitive either way is if the $300 credits affect spending. So if you get the $300 rebated before meeting the bonus benchmark, would you then have to spend $4300 + the AF?

I don’t think the $300 rebate counts against you. Then again I always end up spending quite a bit more than the minimum just to be on the safe side.

Yeah, that’s what I’m doing too. I was going to stop short of 4300 to see what happened but inadvertently went over 🙂

And Lucky addressed it in a blog post today: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/10/15/do-annual-fees-count-towards-credit-card-minimum-spend/
