Currently, can I travel from the States into the UK, stay a few days, and then travel to Germany for a few days before flying back to the States?

If you are a US citizen, don’t think so.

The answer is possibly, but not in reality. Coming from the US, once you enter the UK you’ll be required to quarantine for 14 days. Now, if you are leaving the country, chances are they will allow you to fly onward, but your time in the UK will be in quarantine, so you wont be visiting anyone anywhere. If you enter Germany on a US passport, you’ll be required to quarantine for 14 days – again no visits to anyone anywhere. It is also possible they will tell you to turn around and go home depending on your reason for travelling – based on the link rickyw provided.

I have a related question but could not find a Covid testing thread. I am scheduled to fly to Dubai and I understand entry requirements of Negative Covid PCR test no more than 96 hrs from departure. I’ll be flying BA AUS-LHR-DBX. departing on a tuesday….are there any reliable suggestions as to how to get a test done with doc in hand when Fri at 7p prior is my 96 hour window?

Honestly, depends entirely on your local area (which I assume is Austin) and the testing capabilities there. Here in Maryland, there are countless locations we can go to in order to get tested. Everyone we know who has been tested over the last few months, has received their test results within 72 hours.

This came up on google, I’d look there. In terms of ensuring you get results quickly, I think your question is better suited for some sort of neighborhood forum (Facebook, NextDoor, etc.), so that you can find someone who has actually visited one of these testing facilities.

    Hope that helps!

Following rickyw’s lead again. 🙂 If your home state is Texas, but you are just travelling to Austin for your flights, you can try this one:

Also, if you want a Texas map with test-collection centers, you can try this one:

    Best of luck!
