International Data Roaming – Truphone eSIM
Hey Ben,
I know you’ve reviewed T-Mobile’s add-on International Passes before (I have their ONE plan too) but I wanted to ask if you / anyone you know has tried Truphone at all yet? (https://www.truphone.com/iphone-xs-dual-sim-plan/). There’s also a similar service called GigSky (https://www.gigsky.com/gigsky-iphone-xs-max-xr-cellular-data-only-plans/).
I have an unlocked iPhone XS Max which supports eSIMs (as does the XS and XR), and I understand I can buy a 4G 30 day local data pass from Truphone for my upcoming trip to the U.K. for $7 (1GB) $19 (3GB) or $26 (5GB) without any ongoing commitment (it would also work across Europe too per the EU Roaming regulations).
According to Apple I can keep my T-Mobile number active as the ‘Primary’ (calls, SMS etc) and just use Truphone for faster roaming data (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209044)
Hi Luke, I’ve never heard of Truphone. But I googled Truphone Review and this was literally the first link, which isn’t the best sign…
