I bought a $50 hilton gift card from [URL]https://www.buyhiltongiftcards.com/[/URL]
So I received an Amex Hilton prepaid card, and I assumed that its a normal gift card and I can use it to book any room from hilton.com
So I tried to book a prepaid room rate at a Hilton property ([URL=’https://secure3.hilton.com/en_US/hi/reservation/book.htm?execution=e1s1&_eventId=rateSummaryDetailsPopup&srpId=H7F&roomCode=K1D&index=0&internalDeepLinking=true’]HONORS DISCOUNT SEMI-FLEX[/URL] rate), but at checkout there is no field to enter gift card number.
So I did a google search of how to use the Hilton gift card and found some people saying you cant even use the gift card towards room rates…only towards restaurant and non-room payments.
Is that true?
If it is that means its a useless gift card!

I’d assume that means you could use it at check-out for any incidentals to your folio

Not sure about the pre-pay option but I have absolutely used Hilton GCs (purchased when Amex offers was giving cashback) to pay for room charges (not just incidentals). I just presented the card and asked them to apply the balance. You might call Hilton and see if they will take it over the phone…seems absurd to me that a Hilton giftcard cannot be used for hotel stays, unless it was part of a special promo or something.
