How to navigate priority boarding while getting the most points.

How to navigate priority boarding while getting the most points.

I am interested in the Amex Platinum card with its 5x airline points but am concerned that while using it for economy travel I will not receive Priority boarding privileges. I currently have the three major branded airline cards (Delta/American/United) just for that reason. When I pay with them, I get priority boarding. Am I missing something or will I forego priority to get 5x points?

Hi @DonDover and welcome to the Ask Lucky fourm!

With the Amex Platinum you do not receive any priority boarding from the airline. In my opinion, though, I really would value 5x points over priority boarding.

It should not have any effect as long as you have your FF number in your reservation. AFAIK the card ownership is linked to your FF account. UA is the only carrier that restricts luggage benefits to reservations actually made with their cobrand credit card but I haven’t heard of it being a factor in the boarding process. I’d also agree with Jacob. not sure cc boarding priority is worth giving up 5x points.
