I’ve not tried to buy MOs with a reloadable card but I have used Visa gift cards to both buy money orders at WM and to load my Bluebird account. What company is your gift card affiliated with? Vanilla cards have some weird restrictions, like you can only use $49.95 (?) at a time on a MO.

Yeah, I’m curious about this too. Most gift cards are not reloadable…

let me know if you could see it or not

I could not. I got a brief flash of a gray screen but that’s it. However, I’m on my work PC and it may have some things blocked.

I can’t see it either. @Tiffany would you mind checking the image upload function when you have a moment? I couldn’t upload one a couple of weeks ago either. Kept getting that broken file icon.

@thehowieee — for the patch/bug list?

@lays123 my only other suggestion would be to try another grocery store. I wouldn’t call attention to the fact that you have a gift debit card. Just make sure the store accepts debit cards for money orders and then process with pin (last four of the card number for Metabank cards usually).

You can either:
1) Go to Wal-Mart and try to buy a money order with the “debit” card (you have to say plainly a DEBIT card). DO NOT tell them you’re using a gift card. The Money Order costs around $0.84 I believe, so either pay that in cash (let’s say you have $500 Visa GC, you buy a $500 MO and pay $500.84), or get a MO for like $499.16 or something.

2) Go to Wal-Mart, tell them you want to “load” money onto your Amex Serve, or BlueBird card with your DEBIT card. Depending on which Serve card you have, there may be a fee. I usually load $490.00 with the $500 DEBIT card. Use the remaining leftover on the GC to buy some Amazon GC (load your Amazon balance).

3) Go to Dollar General and load your Amex Serve with the DEBIT card. Same thing as #2.

Note: Walmart stores vary. Some stores have a software update on their registers that will be able to tell it’s a Gift card and fail with a “tender not allowed” or something. At that point, not much you can do but either find a different Walmart or go with option #3.

You should really look/read at the Manufactured Spending forum over on FlyerTalk.
