Hotels.com Issue with receipts

Hotels.com Issue with receipts

  1. David Rogers New Member

Had booked a hotel via Hotels.com. However when checkout time came, the hotel refused to give me a receipt for the amount, only for the amount minus (what I assume to be) the Hotels.com commission/charges. As, like many on this forum, I was traveling on business so needed the receipt for expenses.
the hotel refused, and Hotels.com does not supply a receipt with a valid VAT number (required for many systems).
Terrible service, no interest by anyone in resolving it by anyone concerned.

has anyone else had a similar issue?

I had something similar one time when I booked with a corporate rate. For some reason the desk though I had used an OTA but when they saw it was a corporate rate they gave me a receipt.

Have you tried contacting the hotel chain directly to see if they can provide a receipt?

Seems annoying. Can they reimburse based on a credit card statement?
