Hitting the Minimum

Hitting the Minimum

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hello!
Great blog! I am a fellow world traveler as well and love to find the best deals to keep traveling as long as I can. I am currently serving in the Peace Corp and love it. Unfortunately I do not get paid during my 2 years of service, so hitting the minimum on any CCs to get the point bonuses is impossible. During service I simply just don’t have bills to hit the minimum. Suggestions around this or any cards that have very low minimums I could use? Thank you!

Spend on authorized cards does count towards the minimum spend. Any immediate family/friends?
Do you have time to buy/sell gift cards to meet the spend?
Pay rent for a friend or family through radpad. You bite the fee (free till year end) but meet the spend.
Being on service and meeting spend is tough but there are ways with some help and effort.
SM the bank about your situation. May be they will waive the reqs. Long shot though!

I can’t speak for all parents of adult children but most of the ones I know aren’t into points and FF programs. Can you get any help from yours? Maybe they can make (online) purchases on your cards while you are serving.
