Help kindly sought clearing up a question re Marriott Gold benefits?

Firstly, thanks for reading this and sorry if my question strikes many as blindingly obvious!

I just wanted to confirm the following: does Marriott Gold status entitle the status holder to free breakfasts at Ritz-Carlton hotels (in my case, the one overlooking Central Park, NYC)?

I ask simply as one well-known blogger site quotes a “yes” to the above question; FT, on the other hand, seems unanimously to say “no” to this; and thus I am not sure who to believe. My hunch is to err with the FTers, sadly.

Could anyone put me out of my misery? 🙂

    Thanks so much!

    Bolding mine:

    Lounge Access/Free Breakfast
Free daily continental breakfast, light snacks and beverages for the Gold Elite member and one guest in the Executive Lounge at JW Marriott®, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance® and Marriott Hotels®, Delta Hotels® (resorts excluded). In the U.S. and Canada, select hotels will provide 750 or 1,000 points in lieu of breakfast in the event the lounge is closed.

See terms & conditions for participating hotels.

Ritz-Carlton’s own program doesnt have complimentary breakfasts for ANY elites either. http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/rewards/benefits
