Going rate these days for VDB?

Going rate these days for VDB?

Curious if this is a one off or has become the norm after so much bad press with boarding situations. I was on an oversold flight today and they offered I think a $300 voucher, hotel and meals for 2 people to give up their seats. The door was closed after boarding and it turns out there was an extra person on the plane without a seat. After trying to sort out what happened, a flight attendant offered a $5000 voucher for somebody to give up their seat and people raised their hands very quickly. We already had an aircraft switch because of a maintenance issue and as it was landed literally seconds before the SAN curfew. Also curious what the fee is for going past the curfew and assuming this could have played into the offer.

It’s going to be different amounts/policies depending on the airline and situation so it’s hard to answer your question.
