Global Entry Renewal

Global Entry Renewal

  1. Linda Rosenes New Member

Hi I applied for renewal of my Global Entry in October my expiration date was Jan 2020. I was told on the gov website that there was a backlog of 6 months.Today I was denied here is what the email said.

You do not meet the program eligibility requirements because you have listed the state of New York as your current residence. At this time, CBP is unable to verify certain information connected to your application.

My family members went for the first time to apply for Global Entry in Dec 2019 and got approved very quickly so I dont understand why i got denied if I started my renewal in Oct 2019.

    I have three questions:
    1. Is there someone to talk to you about allowing allowances for people that applied for renewal prior the new NYS rule?
    2. Will I still get TSA approval or do I need to apply for this again and pay again?
    3. I paid $100 TSA costs $85 will they refund me the $15 dollars.

I should have been approved since my request was made prior to 2020. I have tried call several different numbers to speak to someone but i cant get anyone live. Is there an office in NYC?

    I appreciate any help. thanks

    Hi Linda,

that stinks. Your situation is frustrating, no doubt. But my understanding of the regulation is that it has nothing to do with when you applied, but rather that DHS can’t (won’t?) approve applications because it can’t access NY DMV records. Allegedly. Obviously this is being done out of spite, but whatever.

Best bet is to use Mobile Passport, which is not affected (yet) and is available at JFK and EWR. And to hope NYS prevails in the lawsuit it filed.

Linda – not sure if you are still reading Ask Lucky, but consider this (if possible):
