Flight delay responsibility
Hi Lucky, wanted to check something with you. I bought a roundtrip ticket through Jet Airways from Bombay to Shanghai, via Hong Kong. The flight was on Jet Airways from Bombay to HKG (return) and then it was on China Eastern and Hong Kong Airlines. On the return, the flight to HKG was delayed by 5 hours and I missed my connection. Jet Airways put their hand up and is saying that it is the problem of Hong Kong Airlines. Is this a fair stand? I was made to wait at HKG for 24 hours with no compensation and only a room for 12 hours. My question is, since I have booked and know Jet Airways, shouldn’t they have been responsible to take care at HKG?
If Jet Airways issued the ticket then they should be responsible for all segments. IN this case though they seem to have done some of the right things, rebooked you, and provided a room to sleep. If you want more, you should figure out a cogent argument and ask for it.
